Council Update - Day Two

Highlights from the second, and final, day of our 119th Annual Council: 

Elections: Elections for Standing Committee, Deputy to Provincial Synod and Deputies to General Convention were held. Election results are available HERE

Reports were received from EYC (a copy of this report will be posted on the Council website as soon as possible), the Mission Network, the Commission on Ministry of the Baptized, Episcopal Relief & Development, and St. Paul's College.

Recognitions: Carol & Mac Todd, Bill & Mary Kafes were recognized for their gracious service as Council hosts.

Courtesy Resolutions: Rev. Ralph "Ned" Haines was recognized for his 40 years of ministry and his service as Secretary of the Diocese. Greetings were sent to our Companion Diocese of Belize, to our Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori and the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams.

Memorial Resolutions: The lives and service of Mrs. Margaret Christian, Mr. Alex Grice, Rev. Dr. William Jones, and Rev. George Smith were honored by memorial resolutions.

United Thank Offering: UTO boxes placed on delegate tables in Council session were collected. $544.12 was contributed to UTO.

Our closing Eucharist celebrated the Feast of Absalom Jones. Our guest preacher was Rev. Milton Williams, rector of St. Monica & St. James, Washington DC. The offering will go to St. Paul's College, Lawrenceville. Go to our Facebook page for photos from the service.
